A variety of Jewish groups are offering educational and recreational online resources. Below is a sampling of those. The Reporter will publish additional listings as they become available.
The Jewish Grandparents Network will hold the virtual program “Latkes and Laughter: Hanukkah Activities to Make Meaning and Memories with Grandchildren” on Thursday, December 4, from 7-8:15 pm. Educator and performer Andrew Davies will introduce Hanukkah games, stories and other activities. For more information, click here.
The Museum of Jewish Heritage will hold the virtual lecture “The Radical Camera” with Richard McBee on Monday, November 24, at 7 pm. A $10 donation is requested. McBee will discuss the Photo League, which “was founded in New York City by a group of young idealistic photographers, mostly Jewish and, typical of the time, many with liberal to left sympathies.” For more information or to register, click here.
Roundtable will hold several courses over the winter months, including “The Song of Songs: A Biography” on Mondays, January 12-February 2, from 10-11 am, cost to attend $138 (available here); “Global Jewish Book Club: Winter 2026” on Wednesdays, January 7, February 4, March 4 and April 8, from 12:30-2 pm, cost to attend $184 (available here); “Yiddish in New York” on Tuesdays, February 10-March 10, from 1-2 pm cost to attend $239 (available here); and “Rembrandt’s Jews and Other Themes from the Dutch “Golden Age” on Wednesdays, February 11-25, from 11 am-noon, cost to attend $138 (available here).
Uri L’Tzedek will hold the virtual talk “‘The Holy Blasphemer’ in Leviticus 24” on Wednesday, November 19, at noon. Rabbi Uri Topolosky will discuss the biblical story. The cost to attend is $18. For more information or to register, click here.
The Jewish Community Library will hold the virtual book talk “Dog: A Novel” with Yishay Ishi Ron and Yardenne Greenspan on Sunday, January 4, from 2-3 pm. Ron will discuss his novel, which has been called “is a haunting, unflinching exploration of PTSD, addiction, and redemption, told through the lens of an Israeli officer returning from Gaza.” For more information or to register, click here.

The Hadassah-Brandeis Institute will hold the hybrid program “‘The Lesbian Feminists Are the Bridge’: Anglo-American Feminists and the Rise of Lesbian Activism in Israel (1971-1987)” with Dotan Brom on Monday, December 8, at 12:30 pm. Uri L’Tzedek will hold the virtual talk “The Shabbat Effect,” a book talk with Alan Morinis on Wednesday, December 3, at 1 pm. The cost to attend is $18. He will discuss his book, which will be published in 2026. For more information or to register, click here.
My Jewish Learning will hold the virtual class “Jewish Representation on TV: Dissecting The Sopranos, The West Wing, The Wire and Mad Men” on Mondays, November 24-December 15, at 8 pm. The cost to attend is $65. The class will discuss how the depiction of Jews on TV “tells us a lot about identity, stereotypes and cultural history.” For more information or to register, click here.
Literary Modiin will hold its hybrid December 2025 Author Event on Sunday, December 28, at 1 pm. The books to be discusses are Ilana Kurshan’s “Children of the Book), Caroline Goldberg Igra’s “Pictures of My Desire” and Judy Lev’s “Bethlehem Road.” For more information or to register, click here.

The Center for Jewish History has begun the podcast “From Rubble to Root.” The podcast will “follow Holocaust survivors and their children as they gather what remains, hold onto what they can, and try to understand what it means to inherit such a history.” It is available worldwide on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and at cjh.org/rubble-to-roots. Hadassah Magazine will hold the virtual book talk “Heart to Heart with Rabbi Angela Buchdahl” on Monday, December 8, at 8 pm. Buchdahl, the senior rabbi of New York City’s Central Synagogue, will talk with Hadassah Magazine Executive Editor Lisa Hostein about her life journey and her memoir. “Heart of a Stranger: An Unlikely Rabbi’s Story of Faith, Identity, and Belonging.” For more information or to register, click here.
