Book Club at TC announces 2024-25 schedule

The Morning Book Club at Temple Concord announced its book list for its 21st reading season 2024-25. Book club meetings will take place on the first Tuesday of the month, except October when the club will meet on the first and fifth Tuesdays; the club does not meet in November. Unless otherwise indicated, book club meetings take place in the Temple Concord library and on Zoom beginning at 10:30 am. Everyone is welcome to participate whether or not they have read the book.   • July 2: “Kunstlers in Paradise: A Novel” by Cathleen Shine
  • August 6: “The Rabbi Who Prayed With Fire” and “The Rabbi Who Prayed for the City” (Rabbi Vivian Mysteries) by Rachel Sharona Lewis
  • September 3: “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store: A Novel” by James McBride
  • October 1: “The Village Idiot: A Novel” by Steve Stern
  • October 29: “Anything but Yes: A Novel of Anna Del Monte, Jewish Citizen of Rome 1749” by Joie Davidow
  • No meeting in November: Election Day
  • December 3: “The Wolf Hunt” by Ayelet Gundar-Goshen, translated by Jessica Cohen
  • January 7: “Gangsters vs Nazis: How Jewish Mobsters Battled Nazis in Wartime America” by Michael Benson (non fiction)
  • February 4: “The Hebrew Teacher” by Maya Arad, translated by Sondra Silverston
  • March 4: “The Island of Extraordinary Captives: A Painter, a Poet, an Heiress, and a Spy in a World War II British Internment Camp” by Simon Parkin (non fiction)
