Ithaca College Hillel has announced that Calle Schueler will serve as its next executive director. In this role, Schueler will oversee IC Hillel and “create meaningful experiences, programming and community” for the 1,100 Jewish undergraduate students at the college. Schueler will succeed executive director Julie Boden Adams, who served IC Hillel for the past two years. 
Schueler currently serves as director of engagement and education at Temple Beth-El in Ithaca, where they directed the religious school, restructured teen programming, and led family and intergenerational programming initiatives. In addition to their work with Temple Beth-El, Schueler is already deeply connected to the IC Hillel community, having led Shabbat services throughout the past year.
“I am thrilled to be stepping into the role of executive director of Ithaca College Hillel and to build on the strong foundation laid by Julie Boden Adams and the many dedicated students, staff, alumni, and campus partners who have shaped this vibrant organization,” said Scheuler, the incoming executive director of IC Hillel. “I look forward to partnering with students to create a Jewish home on campus that reflects the diversity of their experiences and interests, giving them opportunities to learn, lead, connect, and find their own place within Jewish life and community. I am also excited to collaborate with the staff and student leaders of Muller Chapel to create spaces for dialogue, learning, and friendship across traditions and identities. My hope is to foster a welcoming center for Jewish life where all students can come together, build lasting relationships, and feel a genuine sense of belonging.”

Schueler holds a master of arts in Jewish education and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Nonprofit management at Northeastern University. They will officially assume their role on July 1.
