Kalaniot Books announced that it will release two new children’s picture books for the summer and fall 2026 seasons:
“There’s a Crocodile on the Train!” written and illustrated by Amit Trainin with a translation by Ilana Kurshan (Release date: August 25)
The morning train is bustling with passengers chatting, laughing and telling their favorite jokes – until a great green crocodile squeezes into the car. Everyone grumbles, but no one dares to say a word… except a tiny chick named Peep. With a brave heart and gentle manners, Peep steps forward to talk to the newcomer – and discovers that the crocodile isn’t scary at all, just shy and kind. Together, they show the other passengers that when we treat others as we wish to be treated, amazing things can happen. Told in lively rhyme with bright, whimsical illustrations and with themes that are rooted in ancient Jewish teachings “There’s a Crocodile on This Train!” celebrates courage and empathy.

“Hear Me Roar! I’m a HANUKKAHsaur” by Naomi Gruer and illustrated by Mel Zohar (Release date: September 29)
Miles loves Hanukkah almost as much as he loves dinosaurs. Each night of the holiday, his dino-sized enthusiasm leads to big messes – and even bigger fun – as he becomes VeLATKEraptor, TriceraTOPS, MENORAHsaur, and more. From lighting candles to spinning dreidels, Miles discovers that whether you stomp, chomp, or roar, “Dinos can do it!” With bright and colorful illustrations and appealing wordplay, this book is sure to be a read-aloud favorite. Includes a glossary and a dinosaur guide.
