The Jewish Federation of Greater Binghamton will hold its annual Super Sunday phonathon on Sunday, August 23, at the Jewish Community Center, starting at 10 am. Follow-up calls will be made through September. 
“We are grateful for community members who pledge early. It truly reduces the burden for our Campaign volunteers,” said Shelley Hubal, executive director of the Federation. “August 23 will be the beginning of our phone campaign for community members who have yet to pledge.”
The theme of this year’s Campaign is “Your Jewish Community – Embracing our future together.”
“We really want this year’s Campaign to be about creating one Jewish community, under one umbrella, that is united and welcoming. That is how we came up with the Campaign theme. We look forward to connecting with our donors and having a successful Campaign,” said Campaign Chairmwoman Jodi Sampey.
This year’s Campaign has a goal of $300,000 to support community organizations, including Jewish Family Service, the JCC, The Reporter, Hillel Academy, Hillel at Binghamton University, the community mikvah at Beth David Synagogue, Jewish Federations of North America, the Jewish Film Fest and PJ Library, as well as communitywide security initiatives. Campaign dollars also support community programming such as Holocaust remembrance, antisemitism education, security trainings and more. 
“Your support helps to keep the Binghamton Jewish community vibrant and connected,” Hubal noted. She thanked donors for their generous support during Campaign 2026 and gave her outlook for Campaign 2027.
“Due to cuts in federal spending, there is a greater burden on not-for-profit organizations,” she added. “We understand this means our donors are being spread thin. When you support the Federation, you are giving to a multitude of local Jewish organizations and helping our neighbors in need. We thank everyone for their enduring support.”
