A Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration of Israeli art featuring photographer Elinor Carucci
Jewish Federations are pleased to invite you to a Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration of Israeli art featuring photographer Elinor Carucci. The Israeli-born Carucci will shed light on the evolution of an Israeli artist through the lens of her personal journey from the Jerusalem in the 1980s through the New York of today.
Along the way, she will address the broader Israeli experience by exploring personal themes such as her Mizrahi upbringing and being an Israeli immigrant in the US, as well as broader topics such as identity, feminism, the complexity of human relationships, and aging. Carucci will also discuss her well-known TIME magazine commissioned project photographing Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s collars.
